Marathon 58 - Twin Cities, MN Story*Training*Injury*Schedule*Spectators*Statistics

After Casper, I just wasn't up for Grandmas, and with my plan to run MCM with my buddy Rick, I was happy to see Twin Cities fell in perfectly

Fortune has me working a project in St. Louis, so the outbound flight was easy.

Packet pickup in St Paul was a zoo, but easy enough.

I switched rooms from the very nice Hilton, to the very expensive Hilton Garden Inn, and saved 2 blocks of a walk in exchange for the extra honors night.

They were calling for showers throughout the day, and a blustery moring, so I went out and got some throw away sweats. It turned out to be cool, and crystal clear morning, and the mile walk to start at the Metrodome was easy. It was open, and the gazillion runners hung out there until the start

The start had corrals -- me in the 3rd -- that were started in 3 minute waves -- and it took about 10 minutes to get to the line once the gun went off

a 9:22 average for the first 5K, and a 9:50 average over 10K was was unduing. I ran a 2:12 half

At 14 it just hit me, and I could tell it was going to be a long day

Slight drizzle started, on and off, at about mile 18.
