View Marathon ...

The Huntsville Rocket City marathon was a very well run race, despite its low-key size and location. The race packet listed the Seeded Runners (with everyone's name on it).

This race had more turns than I thought possible.

The Race Director (Malcom Gillis) compiled an amazing amount of statistics, showing the level of detail of this race:

• Entry/Start/Finish numbers and percentages by Age & Sex
• Percents of Starters who Finished (and did not Finish) and Entries that did not Start
  • By Sex
  • By Number of Marathons run
  • First timers
  • By City (in Alabama)
  • by State and Country
• Parent/Child
• Husband/Wife
• PR listing for all runners (who ran a PR)
• T-Shirt Size requested, numbers and percent:
  • S 39 (4%)
  • M 190 (19.3%)
  • L 405 (41.1%)
  • XL 313 (31.8%)
  • XXL 11 (1.1%)

It was disappointing that they did not list percent age/sex/finishers by state/marital-status/shirt-size.

I think I'll write the Race Director and tell him we need those stats. I'm sure they'll be there next year ;-)
